Welcome Pippa

Last year, we met with a lady who was selling a young foal. We went to view the foal, but it was decided that it wasn’t going to be a good fit for our young family.



We parted with the understanding that perhaps we could provide some adjistment for her horses in the future.

Last week, we were called and offered the mother of the foal to keep - for free. After some deliberation, Shar and I decided to accept the offer and today, our new horse, Pippa, arrived. 

We spent the morning building a new 4-strand fenced paddock, complete with new gate.

Common Crow Butterfly

Yesterday I found this interesting caterpillar on one of our desert roses.




After some research I realise that it is the young of the Common Crow Butterfly, who’s looks are a bit less interesting. 



I’ve decided to let the caterpillar mature to see it’s crysalis. It should look something like this:
