Work, Work, Work

It seems that all I think and do these days revolves around work. The ELC will have its Assessment and Rating on Monday, which should be memorable. The last 6 weeks have been an absolute flurry of feverish checking, cross-checking, staff meetings, readings, building, beautifying and organising. In short, all the stuff that I had planned to do over the course of this year, I've tried to condense into a much smaller time frame. So, when all this is over, I'm up for a break I think. This week has been a bit emotional. Two weeks ago, I bought a young bearded dragon, but this week it died. It wasn't a good day. The next day though, one of the parents and a family friend  bought another young dragon. Wow! What a thoughtful thing to do!

What are the children up to?
Well, for one thing, the whole lot of them have been caught up with 'octonauts' for the past while. On one episode, a character called Quasi met his grandfather and went on an adventure. Now Azariah constantly talks about his 'grandfather' and the many imaginary adventures that they have had. He even has multiple grandfathers to cover all the adventures. Such an imagination!! He is very good at creating small sculptures and arranging pieces of wood, boxes or other items to make imaginary boats, trains, planes or anything else his mind turns to...which is a lot because his mind doesn't rest on one thing for very long.

Zemiel is going reasonably well at school. He has good and bad days. A few weeks ago, he signed the national anthem at a sporting event as part of his school's signing choir. He did very well. Zemi loves finding some beetles in the garden, bringing them inside and letting them go so that they fly to the flyscreen - just so he can catch them again. He is a such a tease. Right now, he loves everything about space and planets. He wants to know everything about them.

Zekiah is growing to be a stocky, cheeky little boy. He loves his little sister and is really very good to her. He is in the middle of toilet training currently. He follows Azariah around like a puppy and will copy everything he does. His favourite book right now is 'The Very Itchy Bear'.

Liana-Roze is adorable. She began to crawl right on 6 months and is now starting to pull herself up. She is constantly smiling and has great eye-contact. Everyone wants to hold her and she doesn't complain, she is a complete extrovert!

More next time...
