MRI Results

Last Thursday Sharlene and I met with the hearing clinic specialists in Newcastle. They shared the results for Zemiel's MRI. Very simply, Zem does not have an auditory nerve in his right ear (which has the best formed cochlear). His left ear has something that MAY be an auditory nerve, however his left cochlear is so underdeveloped that they are unsure if it will be able to be used for a cochlear implant.

We have now been referred to the leading cochlear specialist at Westmead Children's Hospital in Sydney.
